Jiaogulan is a green leafed climbing plant, which grows in parts of Asia. It is described as the “immortality herb”, because people within the Guizhou Province, where jiaogulan herbal teas are consumed regularly, are said to have a history of unusual longevity.

Now recent published research is showing there could be some real science behind these claims. One study shows an extract from the plant appears to have beneficial properties in osteoarthritis cells.

Other studies and reviews looking mainly at animal models, indicate extracts could help prevent certain aspects of some age related memory loss and have implied they could help modulate the immune system.
